Where were you in the year preceding your birth year? Ask yourself this question.
Certainly in your spiritual form or the soul. If you do not believe in the spiritual form or the soul then that’s fine too, because you would then agree that you were in the form of energy.
For the sake of this article, grant me the permission to call the energy-form as the spiritual form or the soul.
You , me and others including animals, we all have a physical body and we think that everything that is related to this physical body, is everything that we need to deal with. While we deal with everything related to this physical body, we forget to ask ourselves one simple question with which we started this article that where were we in the year preceding our birth year.
Whether you call it as ‘Soul’ or ‘An Energy Form’, we have a spiritual life which is much longer than the life of our physical body then why can’t we think beyond the different situations, emotions and the challenges that we face as this physical body, as a result of which we either get into complete despair when we face an unexpectedly challenging situation or we get into extreme happiness when we are rewarded with something unexpectedly.
Of course, getting into extreme happiness is a desirable situation for all of us, but then do we ask ourselves that what we can do with our situation, so that others can also get same level of happiness in their lives. This article is primarily targeted at a situation when we get into complete despair because of an unexpectedly challenging situation and we will discuss that how we can manage ourselves so that we manage the situation comfortably.
Life ranges from microscopic level to extra-terrestrial horizons (You may also refer www.frommindtolife.com/home), whereas you and me with our physical body are somewhere in between these two limits. When we get into despair because of an unexpectedly challenging situation, our mind focuses completely on that situation. How would it be, if we try to expand the focus of our mind in that challenging situation, in which we can realize that there is greater despair than ours and also a hope beyond our despair. If we are lucky enough, then we may have some angelic person to guide us but like many others, we might not be able to find that ‘Angel’ in our life. In that case, what do you suggest, should we wait for our ‘Angel’ to help us sail through the challenging situation or do you think that you and me are nothing less than an ‘Angel’ for ourselves. If you think so, then my friend you have got it completely right.
You are the ‘Angel’ for yourself and Am the ‘Angel’ for myself. Our spiritual form or the soul is that ‘Angel’ which has the experience of being in the form of our physical body and also has the experience of being in the form of energy without any physical body.
Once we seek the guidance of our soul, it will make us realize that our despairingly challenging situation is only a part of our journey, there was a lot before it and there is a lot after it. Our job is to stretch the focus of our mind beyond this challenging situation.
So how do we seek the guidance of our soul? Answer is very simple, a word that we hear and read very often nowadays because of the rat race that we are in, the race which makes all of us to compete with each other in terms of achieving materialistic things like house, car and relationships with people etc., and also makes us go into despair when we face a challenging situation that blocks our way to achieve these materialistic things.
This simple answer is ‘Meditation’.
We can initially meditate to empty and relax our mind but with practice we can get into a habit of seeking guidance from our very soul, which can enable us to face challenging situations and emotions like anxiety, fear, loneliness, boredom, etc. comfortably.
